
The student should have completed HV204 at the academy OR The student should have three years of learning experience, with an ability to sing a Swara Vistar,Chhota Khayal with self composed Aalap, Taan in at least twelve Ragas. The student should be able to sing a Dhrupad composition with Dugun and Tarana. The student should have the ability to compose a simple Sargam Geet and a Tarana in any of the Ragas learnt. The student should be able to develop Aalap and sing Bada Khayal in Yaman and Bhupali. Students who wish to join this level directly need to submit the prerequisite assessment assigned by the academy on enrolment
The student at this level has developed a good sense of Vilambit Laya. The third Vilambit Khayal is learnt in the early morning melody Raga Bhairav. The Swar Vistar and Badhat within the Vilambit Khayal are done with the awareness of the nuances of this majestic Raga. The student also listens to different Ragas from the Bhairav family. The next Raga for study is the lilting Tilak Kamod with Bandishes in Jhap Taal and Teentaal. Theory: A study of the two major Notation systems- Swar lipi Paddhatis, Classification of instruments , Playing styles – Gayaki, Tantrakari, adherence to Dhrupad system
