The revered and loved saint of the Bhakti era is Meera Bai. Her songs have been sung by great masters like Pt. D.V. Palukar and Pt. Omkarnath Thakur. Singers like M.S. Subbalakshmi, Kishori Amoankar and Parveen Sultana have sung these Bhajans in their inimitable styles. Meera Bhajans sung by Lata Mangeshkar are all time favourites. 'Mhara Re' is an immortal song which expresses Meera's intense devotion. This song has been set to music by Hridaynath Mangeshkar.

To understand the jist meaning of Meera's poetry

To develop awareness about the Raga which the song is based on and the Swara mapping

To learn to recite the Theka of Taal Dadra

To learn the Bhajan 'Mhara re Giridhar Gopal'

Skill Level HV108. Sudent has training in classical music for at least 2 years.
