The Raga deep dive courses are aimed at internalising Raga concepts. In this Raga Deep dive course the popular Raga Puriya Dhanashri is explored.

Raga Puriya Dhanashri is a beautiful evening Raga, which has got immense appeal with the seemingly simple Raga Chalan and deep emotional content. This Raga has got a vast expanse. The Aalap Badahat is sung with Swaras in all three Saptaks.

The Swar Vistar and Swar Sadhana is done keeping in mind the characteristic features which distinguish this Raga from the other Ragas of the Puriya family. Paltas and a variety of Taan patt erns are practised to gain a command over the Drut Laya. Meditative by nature,  this Ragaa accommodates Aalap as well as lilting speedy Bandishes and Taan.
